Forming a completely new top team (inc. CEO), this profitable and liquid organisation is literally re-inventing itself. As such, it needs a new Sales Manager.

The role, as part of the Executive, is to undertake and manage all sales activity for the launch of their new Income Protection product through the IFA/Intermediary channel in the new year. The responsibility is to “own” the revenue lines and the marketing plan. The remit is to generate sales to meet Year 1 targets whilst developing plans with the CEO for Year 2 and beyond. Also, to identify and build critical relationships with IFA networks and other intermediaries. Additionally, it’s about defining and delivering the sales budget, calendarising activity and matching resource/activity to demand whilst co-ordinating Head/Back Office support. Critically, it is about closing the deal and driving income.

The requirement is for a proactive self-starter of graduate capability. FS knowledge/Channel currency is essential and IP experience or attendant product understanding is advantageous. You will be a proven sales leader and incisive relationship manager. You are ambitious and want the opportunity to make your mark. Another 3R’s apply – right place, right person, right time … Is it you?

LV= is the country’s largest friendly society, with over 4,000 employees serving more than 3.8 million customers. We’ve come a long way over the last few years with greatly improved financial performance and huge business growth. But we’re not planning to rest on our laurels. Far from it. We’re looking to the future with confidence and enthusiasm, as we continue to attract more and more customers and enjoy further success and growth.

About the role

As you’ll have noticed, these are on-the-telephone financial adviser roles. So, you’ll be on the phone, making outgoing calls and responding to incoming ones. Working to agreed individual annual sales targets, you’ll develop new and existing business for LV= by providing professional, needs-based financial advice on our range of savings, retirement and investment products. You’ll enjoy a real mix of work too. Some will be new customers to LV= while many of them will already have a relationship. And because we have such a loyal customer base and large number of policy holders, there are plenty of opportunities for cross-selling and repeat business.

About you

You’ll need to be FPC 1, 2 and 3 or CF 1-5 qualified (or equivalent), and have some financial sales experience under your very capable belt. If it’s been gained in a telephone-based environment, even better. As you’re probably aware, there’s a need for you to be RDR (Retail Distribution Review) compliant in the near future. So, we’ll give you all the practical help and support you need to achieve this. It’s fair to say that you’re driven and motivated, and you’ll enjoy managing your own workload. You’ll also need to be numerate, good with IT and quick to learn.

The rewards

You’ll get out what you put in. As well as a competitive salary, you’ll enjoy uncapped bonus potential. But that’s not all, we’ll also give you a very competitive defined contribution pension scheme, a quarterly sales bonus scheme, 26 days’ holiday (you can also buy and sell holiday), generous discount on LV= products, childcare voucher scheme, and a flexible benefits package.
